this Fresno Bee article about a senior who stumbled across what is considered one of the first ever baseball cards. It's a cute read that captures both the innocence of the hobby and the business side. Who am I kidding? The lady is very happy to be cashing in. She drove to California to have it slabbed. That's dedication.

Yeah, I read about that today. I'm surprised more blogs have not picked up on the story.
She drove all the way from Fresno to California?... wow... That's like driving all the way from Cincinnati to Ohio...I hope they didn't give her any trouble at the border...
Yeah, that'd be me having a brain fart in American geography. It happens when you live in another country. Still, driving to take a card to have it slabbed seems odd to me.
