Sportskings and Ringside Boxing National Plans

Sportskings has announced redemption plans and contests for the upcoming National show in Baltimore August 4 to 8.

A box topper redemption will give collectors an exclusive card made specifically for the show. Below are two examples featuring UFC champion Georges St-Pierre and former home run king Mark McGwire.

National VIPs will also find five cards from an exclusive Sportskings set. But building the set is going to be tricky as there's 25 cards in the set, two of which will be short printed. Here's the checklist:

Five cards from the set will be inserted in each VIP gift bag.

Finally, during each day of the show, the Sportkings booth will be doing draws for memorabilia featuring autographed trunks from the likes of Vinny Paz, Ray Mancini, Lennox Lewis, Hurricane Carter and more. Opening a box of Ringside Boxing KO Edition at the booth will provide two entries, while a box of TKO Edition is good for one entry. Entries are good for each day's draws.

Razor Hosts Lisa Gleave at the National

The Razor booth will be hosting an autograph signing with Let's Make a Deal's Lisa Gleave at this year's National in Cleveland. She'll be signing four different Bench Warmer redemption cards including one that Razor says will be "the CRAZIEST Bench Warmer redemption card ever!!"

The autographs will be via redemption and available all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Collectors will get one of three redemptions at the Razor booth by opening up either a box of pre-2008 Bench Warmer product or 10-plus packs of Bench Warmer cards from 2008 or 2009. Once you've got all three redemptions you get the fourth, an in-person autographed Kiss card where Gleave will sign and plant a smacker on the card right before your very eyes. Talk about creating cardboard jealousy.

The Karate Kid Invades Philadelphia

I have to say that after looking at the initial checklist for the upcoming Donruss Americana III, there was very little that caught my attention. The autograph checklist has a lot of familiar names who have already signed for the series.

There is one exception that I'm very stoked for: Ralph Macchio, better known as The Karate Kid. The promo card pictured below will be one of several exclusive cards handed out at the Philly Non-Sport Card Show this weekend in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Macchio's autograph card debut will come with several parallel's in Donruss Americana III, which is scheduled for release at the start of June. Other Americana "rookies" include James Caan (Sonny from The Godfather), Michael Madsen and JOEY LAWRENCE! Understand my lack of excitement, now?
