2010 Upper Deck Baseball has hit eBay. Assuming the base design is the same as the Star Rookies minus the Star Rookies logo, here's what you can expect:
It's like you wouldn't even know they lost their MLB license. From the images posted on eBay, the inserts are pretty solid looking.
One set that's popping up early is the unannounced 'Celebrity Predictors':
Yes, that would be Angelina Jolie as Mother Theresa, Brad Pitt's Fight Club toughness destroyed forever, the Twilight girl getting a card to cash in on Twilight hype and Robert Pattinson's hair threatening to take over the world. Sadly, I have a hunch once the Twilight-ites get wind of the Pattinson/Stewart, you're going to see some crazy prices. Sadly, I also won't be surprised if there's a variant of the card that pairs Stewart and Team Jacob. Sadly, I just made far too many Twilight references for a post about some of the first pictures of a hotly debated set.

gotta say i like em much better than the topps cards this year
Base cards of veterans have a small pisture where the Star Rookies logo is.
I guess I am still a little confused on the rules. Are hat logos still fair game...just not the jerseys? I also wonder just how many shots of arms over team names, and back shots you can look at before the product becomes monotonous.
How long did it take them to come up with that base card design? 3 seconds? I can think of about 7 past UD base sets that look similar. Nothing unique about that.
The "rules" and what UD is doing are two different thing, IMO. Hat logos are still logos. They're not supposed to be using any MLB logos. MLB opened a court case and a judge will decide what's lawful. I've read in a couple places over supposed precedences that were set elsewhere, but I don't see how UD can win. But I'm no lawyer. UD is definitely pushing boundaries and knowingly too. Otherwise we wouldn't have had to wait until the cards were streeting to see images.
